We have arranged a special workshop with artists-in-residence kennardphillips (Peter Kennard and Cat Phillipps) at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. It’s for Wednesday 13th february from 10.00 – 4.00 The artists, who work as a collaborative team, produce artworks as critical responses to political and social events, both locally and globally.
The workshop will use photomontage, construction, drawing and digital photography, and relates to the current exhibition at the Herbert Caught in the Crossfire, which includes a number of works by kennardphillipps.
Using methods developed from the artists’ practice – from photomontage to performance installation – this D.I.Y. workshop will facilitate participants to express their ideas and concerns through visually connecting photographs and scanned material. Equipment and materials will include a large digital printer, flatbed scanners and digital cameras in addition to magazines to cut up. This workshop, is an ideal opportunity to work alongside contemporary artists in a gallery setting where you will learn new techniques and skills in the production of your own media work.
